OUTBREAK: ZERO is a semi post-apocalyptic pandemic roleplay set in the fictional city of Lethford, USA. Current season: Winter, 20/21.
March 2020. The world is in pandemonium as one month ago, GHNv-20 was confirmed, five months after the beginning of norovirus season. The number of the infected are in the higher hundred thousands, and the death toll is at an estimated 250,000, with about seventy percent of the rest of the population experiencing mild to moderate illnesses connected to the S. pyogenes bacteria.
The fear of the unknown has caused mass hysteria and panic.
In an attempt to provide a semblance of safety and control, military personnel patrol the streets, even here in Lethford City, and the police force is trying to keep up with the rising street violence, assault, and theft.
Welcome to OUTBREAK: zero. Will you survive?

a sudden occurrence of something unwelcome, such as war or disease. number, no quantity or number; nought; the figure 0.
Jade was taking a very brief walk around the city only to take a break from being cooped up in her apartment all day long. She was doing the good thing and staying inside, but sometimes she just needed to get outside, just for a little bit, because otherwise she'd be walking a hole into her carpet. She was following government instructions, though, because let no one call her a slacker. Jade Ventura was going to be doing a good job and be a good role model to her fans.
Dog walks were allowed, at least, so Jade took her pooch with her so she wouldn't be stopped by police or military or something. Her hair was out of its trademark ponytail and just hung loose about her shoulders, and she wore a cute mask with whiskers painted on the front - following rules and looking cute while she was doing it, that was what. Only one bodyguard - dressed in plain clothes - accompanied her, because while there shouldn't be too many people out and about, and hopefully not too many people recognised her, Jade just never knew what could happen out there.
There was little desire to be anywhere else but here in the openness of the surrounding world that avoided him as if the plague had centred upon him and only him and perhaps such was the case. In this new reality, people never knew who was sick, not really, and as such they gave him a wide berth, pirouetting around the teen as he sauntered along the sidewalk. Kayson had not a care in the world, life was good and that fact exuded from him as he perused the empty streets and severe lack of people among them. His exaggerated walk was accompanied by the music in his ears, an upbeat melody that caused his lips to move with the words that passed by his canals and to any outside source he perhaps looked a fool but honestly what did Kayson care?
A corner up to the right and he would be on another block, a mile or so from his home and he showed no signs of stopping. Today was for him, he had told his plethora of followers that he was going for a walk today. No video. No tweets. No photos on Instagram. Just Kayson and the world. The boring, silent, completely uninteresting world.
It did him well to get away from the presence of social media’s for a while, granted he was chomping at the bit to get back to it the very second he stepped from his home. He loved the scene far too much, basked in the glory given to him for very minute, trivial actions. He revelled in it all the same though, the attention he garnered from his fans was like a needle attached to his arm, giving him all the high he would ever need. It was addicting too, perhaps more so than anything else he had every tried and try as he may to take a step away there was a source in the back of his skull beckoning him back to it.
Even now as he turned the corner he was lost in that thought. The things he would post later on in the day, his next video to be filmed and edited, the shenanigans he would get into for the sake of his fans. It was impossible how much he craved their attentions, lingered upon every word spoken through tiny print on a screen, every DM that carried sentiments of encouragement. Perhaps it was his priority that had him staring at his shoes and not before him, because he almost walked right into another person.
Kayson stopped, took a step back and immediately apologized but the words were cut off as he raised his green gaze and looked at the girl.
God, she was pretty. Her hair was down over her shoulders, her face perfectly angled so that the light of the sun highlighted her cheekbones and her full, rose lips were set into a firm but beautiful curvature. Kayson, who rarely lacked anything to say, was rendered speechless in her wake. She had a dog with her, Kayson liked dogs, but it wasn’t the animal trotting along her side that caught his attention but the tanned fingers attached to the leash, the dark skin that appeared pale in the light of the sun, and eyes like golden honey that found him and held him. Prior musing were forgotten in her presence, all semblance of his former self puddled around his feet in her wake and it may have been written all across his face. Kayson collected himself, picked up the pieces of himself along the floor and shook his head as if to make sure she was real.
“Wow...oh my god, I am so sorry.” Kayson ran a hand through his hair.
“I wasn’t paying attention. Are...are you okay?” His words were fumbled and uneven, a great first impression to the girl of his dreams that stood here with him now.
