OUTBREAK: ZERO is a semi post-apocalyptic pandemic roleplay set in the fictional city of Lethford, USA. Current season: Winter, 20/21.
March 2020. The world is in pandemonium as one month ago, GHNv-20 was confirmed, five months after the beginning of norovirus season. The number of the infected are in the higher hundred thousands, and the death toll is at an estimated 250,000, with about seventy percent of the rest of the population experiencing mild to moderate illnesses connected to the S. pyogenes bacteria.
The fear of the unknown has caused mass hysteria and panic.
In an attempt to provide a semblance of safety and control, military personnel patrol the streets, even here in Lethford City, and the police force is trying to keep up with the rising street violence, assault, and theft.
Welcome to OUTBREAK: zero. Will you survive?

It was still early, but luckily for Harley, she had gotten out of work earlier than expected. Something that was not exactly easy to do with her line of work, but she was thankful to go home and get some food into her belly. The morning rain had made life a living hell attempting to get to work that morning, but luckily, she had noticed that it had stopped when she was grabbing her bag. Maybe, just maybe, it would feel nice outside - maybe it would finally feel like fall. The minute she stepped outside of the building, she regretted her thoughts - it was hotter than Hades. And she knew, just knew, that her hair was likely going to frizz up.
Heels clicked against the ground as she walked towards her car in a rush, hoping and praying that her hair would stay the way it currently was. And when she slipped herself into her car, smoothing out her pants-suit, she pulled down the visor and looked at herself. Her hair didn't look too bad, thankfully. Thrusting her stuff into the seat next to her, she started heading home. Not thinking about the time, she turned onto the highway and was instantly greeted by traffic. She mentally scolded herself - she had gotten out earlier than usual, meaning that she had just hit the rush to get home. She groaned, deciding that the next exit, she would get off and follow some back roads.
She pulled out her phone, pulling up her maps as she drove with one hand. She had just glanced up, just in time to see a delivery truck taking a turn a little too sharp - seems like they didn't want to get off on the exit they accidentally were heading off on - but due to the roads still being wet, the entire truck flipped over...RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER!
She screamed, her phone dropping down into her lap as she turned the wheel sharply, her car turning over and doing flips. Glass broke, her head slamming into the airbag that deployed. But she was lucky; the last tumble that her car did, landed with her car the correct way - instead of upside down.
t was a normal day- as normal as it could get with the current cases skyrocketing and the hours that he spent in the hospital were getting more and more. Naps between surgeries were not doing him any good anymore in which Beau knew it was his time to leave. The safety of others were at risk and with how many deaths that were happening, it hurt mentally more. As a surgeon you knew you couldn’t save them all and you couldn’t get attached but when you called the time of death so many times you could remember each time you looked at the clock, there was something serious going on.
Sliding into his dark car, he laid his head back for a moment as he took a breath to let his mind breath. Counting always helped bring him back to a place of focus- all he had to do was get home. It was one of the first times he wasn’t driving after curfew and with that meant traffic. Patience was one of his virtues but in reality, it just meant it would take him longer to get home. Amber eyes moved open, the light catching the pale hair of his lashes as his eyes stared forward for an unknown amount of time as the birds chirped.
Long digits moved into the pocket of his slacks, wrapping around the keys that sat in the satin fabric. Pulling them out, he slid the key quickly into the car and pulled out of what was really his home. Within moments, he was on the highway with the sounds of NPR humming in the car. Resting his arm on the elbow rest, his eyes flickered forward as he glanced between the cars. A few cars in front and a few to his left were a delivery truck, traffic humming peacefully until it wasn’t.
Slamming on his breaks, Beau clenched his teeth as the flash of the tail lights lined the cars in front of him. A few swerved and soon his SVU came to a halt but his eyes were watching the image of a vehicle landing on its tires after so many rolls. Letting out a curse, Beau threw his door open as many people moved from their cars towards the one that laid in the grass with the smell of smoke coming from one of the cars.
“Don’t move her.” Beau shouted as a couple had made it closer to the car first as his shoes hit the pavement before reaching the grass. Trying to catch his breath, he moved to the side of the vehicle as the adrenaline pumped through his body. Assessing the situation he could see micro lacerations on her face and some on her body. Reaching into the pocket of his jacket, he pulled out a small light as someone nearby was on the phone but his eyes focused on the brunette in front of him.
“Ma’am… Ma’am can you hear me?” His words were soft and calm- causing any panic would really make things worse if she was the move too quickly. Gently, digits pulled open her eyes to flash the light to see if any damage to the neurological system signs were present.

I know it's alittle long. I'll try to shorten it next time !
Harley had never been in a car accident before, but she had seen them on television. Sure, television shows and movies don't exactly show the fear that someone feels when in a car crash, but the way they acted was how she felt at that moment. The airbag ejected, slamming her body back into the seat as it flipped, and when it landed - she hit forward into it. A groan left her lips; she had gotten lucky with it all. She noticed that two people were coming towards her, a couple from the looks of it. But they stopped, the sound of mumbling signaling that her hearing might be damaged - or maybe she just sucked at hearing.
A hand slowly slipped up, rubbing at her head in pain, only for her fingers to come back bloody. She groaned against the door opening, and then a male was speaking. And then her face was touched, her eyes opened with fingertips, and then a blinding light was flashed into her eyes. She tried to get away from him, "Let...Get that light out of my eye," she groaned out, her chest kinda hurt. Was a rib broken? It felt like when she broke her rib when she was younger.
She took a deep breath or at least tried to. "I think...I think my rib's broken..."
