[attr="class","CONTENT"] Aurelio was running low on money. He didn't want to necessarily sacrifice his health for something stupid like a party but it was such a good chance to get his hands on some wallets. It was the only place that would be crowded enough for no one to notice - hopefully. Clubs used to be such a great place to pickpocket. People were drunk, or even high and left their wallets unsecured in the back pockets of their pants. Perfect. By the time they would notice he would be gone.
Outside of that Aurelio barely succeeded in stealing anything. Heck, not even food. It was a struggle and he hated it but there wasn't anything he could do. That was his life now. So he decided to go to the Halloween rave, smearing charcoal all over his face and clothes with leftovers he found outside of an out-of-business Korean bbq restaurant, sacrificing his only clean pair of clothes. But if he was lucky enough this evening he might be able to get himself another one... or just some coins to run his clothes through a washing machine at a laundromat.
He mingled with the crowd, pretended to dance, fingers slipping into the pockets of those he thought wouldn't notice.
Gwen had gotten lucky, more times than she could count on her right hand. Maybe she was like a cat? Had nine lives and was now down to like six? Each passing day she did more and more to bring the populace to the truth, but after everything that has been happening lately - especially on the news, it was getting worse. Each new thing was making everyone on edge, and if fear wasn't the danger here, she didn't know what was.
But then word that there was going to be a Halloween party. The government might have canceled, but that wasn't going to stop her from partying. And the secret warehouse party was just what the doctor ordered. Grabbing one of her old costumes from the closet, she threw her hair up in a ponytail and headed out. It didn't take long to find the place, nor long to make her way through the haunted house that led to the party. It was nice, and she was itching for some excitement.
She headed for the dance floor first, random men and women around her as she did so. But it was the feeling of something against her skin tight jeans, where she had tucked some cash in her ass pocket, that caught her attention. She whirled around, "Hey!" she exclaimed, believing that someone was trying to catch a feel.
[attr="class","CONTENT"] Aurelio tried to pretend he was just dancing whenever someone turned or seemed to be turning around. He threw his arms up in the air and swung his hips to the sides, smiling innocently before turning away from the failed attempts. He would do the same whenever someone came up to him, trying to grind themselves against him.
The young boy tried not to let those unsuccessful attempts drag him down. The night was still young and the number of possible victims was plenty. And even if he only would gather one or two wallets he would call it a successful night if he managed to get out of there without a black eye or bruises.
His hand reached out for yet another person. Surprised, both of his hands shot up into the air, he swallowed, eyes nervously flickering to the sides. His leg moved to pretend he was kicking away something on the floor. "Sorry! There umm.. was a fake spider stuck on your pants." Aurelio tried to explain, offering the red-head a shy smile.
The ginger spun around, coming face to face with a male that was behind her. His hands shot up in the air the minute their eyes made contact. He was cute; she'd give him that. But right now, she was trying to enjoy herself - not get felt up by some random stranger. He seemed surprised, swallowing the spit in his mouth, his adam's apple working double-time as if he were nervous. He didn't seem to like keeping eye contact with her, his eyes flickering from side to side. Maybe this was the first time he had gotten caught that night? Or perhaps the first time someone had said something to him.
She noticed out of the corner of her eye, him kicking at the floor. It was dark enough that she couldn't see what he was kicking if he was even kicking anything at all. Her eyes flickered down for a second, trying to see, but he spoke. Her eyes snapped back up, "A fake spider?" she questioned, her tone suspicious. It was possible, but wouldn't she have felt it sticking to her butt from moving around?
[attr="class","CONTENT"] Aurelio nodded some more as she repeated his words. "Yes, a fake spider. It was right there-" he said, dropping his arms and semi-pointing at where it was if she hadn’t turned around. So instead of pointing at her butt, he was pointing at her upper front thigh. "Sorry. Someone probably wanted to… prank you?" he added, scratching his head a little before ruffling through his hair with the same hand. Hopefully, his awkwardness would help him out a little more.
"I was looking for my friend and... just noticed." Aurelio definitely had gotten better at lying in the past few months. Took him long enough. It still didn’t come easy for him, thinking up all the false information and bringing himself to actually utter them in front of someone. But he was somewhat surviving. He gave her a light shrug, hands slipping into the pockets of his pants to tuck away the money he had already stolen after he took it out of the wallets which he ended up throwing away somewhere on the dance floor.
The fact that he pointed to her upper thigh made her narrow her eyes in on him, crossing her arms over her chest to make her breast almost pop out of the top of her costume. "So there was a fake spider on my upper thigh, but you touch my ass pocket where my money is for...what reason?" she questioned, raising her eyebrow at him, a scowl on her face. He kept saying that someone must have been pranking her.
She wanted to strangle the guy; she was better at lying than he was. Though the way he was saying his words were pretty believable, the pointing is what gave him away. "Look...maybe we got off on the wrong foot. You got guts though; I'll give you that," she said, brushing a strand of ginger hair behind her ear. "I'm Gwen."
[attr="class","CONTENT"] Aurelio pointed at the same spot again. "No, I didn’t point at your thigh but like… if you turn around it would have been there." he tried to explain, wondering if his words made any sense. "I just didn’t want to blatantly point at your… behind." He swallowed hard, once again, moving his arm and scratched his upper arm. He had hesitated to actually utter the last word, trying to find a replacement word that didn’t sound too blunt.
Honestly, Aurelio thought she was going to bust him or beat him up, shove him into the arms of whoever had authority over this whole place - obviously not the cops but he was pretty sure criminals were even worse than law enforcement. Because they didn’t need to stick to any regulations or protocol. He was a little confused when she introduced herself to him, even complimenting him. Aurelio lifted his gaze and slowly nodded at her. "My name is Aurelio. Again, I'm... sorry." he told her, rubbings his sweaty hands together nervously.
