OUTBREAK: ZERO is a semi post-apocalyptic pandemic roleplay set in the fictional city of Lethford, USA. Current season: Winter, 20/21.
March 2020. The world is in pandemonium as one month ago, GHNv-20 was confirmed, five months after the beginning of norovirus season. The number of the infected are in the higher hundred thousands, and the death toll is at an estimated 250,000, with about seventy percent of the rest of the population experiencing mild to moderate illnesses connected to the S. pyogenes bacteria.
The fear of the unknown has caused mass hysteria and panic.
In an attempt to provide a semblance of safety and control, military personnel patrol the streets, even here in Lethford City, and the police force is trying to keep up with the rising street violence, assault, and theft.
Welcome to OUTBREAK: zero. Will you survive?

[attr="class","CONTENT"] The SWAT unit had been part of this whole raid and bust scheme since the beginning. They were sent out first, parking their cars just down the street to quickly maneuver into the premise and ambush the illegal party-goers. Liam and his team were still waiting for orders to go, with dispatch waiting on information from their insiders inside the building.
In the meantime, he and the others had left their cars and he walked over to the trunk, popped it open, and checked his equipment. Adjusting his body cam and making sure it was working he nodded at his teammate before hauling one of the rifles over his head, letting it hang over his chest. Liam inspected the firearm and then moved on to the ammunition, confirming that it was loaded and strapping two more rounds into his vest.
He only lifted his head when another car arrived, headlights off to not raise suspicions. As far as he was informed not all units were involved. Flashing a brief smirk into the car’s direction as someone stepped out of it, followed by a canine, knowing exactly who it was he nodded as a greeting to her as well as to Louie, her dog. "Officer Sanders-" he started jokingly, "I see you made it to the party."
Kai could list plenty of things she’d prefer to be doing on Halloween night other than raiding a Halloween party, but that would only make her bitter about being one of the few K-9 units chosen to add backup. She knew that she should feel proud of herself, but it was turning into a cold night, and the last thing she wanted to do was chase around people dressed up as sexy something or others. Still, she put on her gear, pulling her hair back into a tight ponytail, before heading out ot her cruiser with Louie - also looking quite fashionable in his official canine police vest - and heading to the meeting point. She’d practically perfected driving with her headlights off, and as she pulled up she caught sight of Liam, an automatic smile coming to her face. At least she wasn’t the only one who was going to have to be here. Sliding out of the vehicle, she raised her brows as if in offense as he greeted her formally, Louie letting out the softest of ‘woofs’ in greeting, stuck to her side like glue. ”Officer Ford.” She responded, her smile turning up at the corners into a bemused smirk.
Letting out a sigh at his comment about the party, she glanced around at the personnel waiting for the go ahead. ”Yeah, party. I’d rather be eating a giant bag of candy on my couch in my pajamas.” She complained, only half-serious. In reality, there’d probably also be some Chinese takeout, too. Glancing down at Louie before looking back up at Liam, Kai gave a shrug of her shoulders. ”Looks like we’re gonna be your backup. I’ll try to make sure Louie doesn’t bite you in the ass on accident.” She teased, wanting to cross her arms in front of her, but unable to thanks to her gear. Even her lightweight, bullet-proof K-9 unit vest made her feel bulky and uncoordinated sometimes.
