[Extrovert] She's a classic extrovert. Very bad at knowing where the line is. Has no sense of personal boundaries or oversharing. She tends to wear her emotions clear and visible and has no issues speaking her mind. She tends to call it how she sees it and rarely pulls punches. She has been referred to as annoying and a pain in the ass more times than she can count. If someone catches her attention she isn't shy about letting them know, whether it's in a good way or not. The only time she can effectively hide her emotions is when she's undercover and that's due to the many, many years of training with the FBI that taught her in that moment, she is who she says she is and whatever feelings are real because there is no alternative. Period.
[Driven] When she sets her sights on something there is literally no force on heaven nor earth that will deter her from it. She can be relentless in her pursuit, whether it's a job she wants done or a craving filled from her favorite Chinese place. She is a big fan of the ends justifying the means and has no issues skirting moral lines when it comes down to it. She tends to look at life in not the "I want this goal and then I'll be done", but forever as the "I did that. What's next?"
[Calculated] Because of her second...ahem...job. It's not just a handy thing to meticulously be three steps ahead, but a need. While she usually can't hide her emotions well, there is zero chance of anyone figuring out why she did what. Even as they looked at it all on paper, the motives would never be clear unless she explained it. Which she wouldn't.
[Impatient and Arrogant] Because of her brash nature, she tends to have zero to little patience, with no tact to correct it kindly. She's more of the "if you can't do it, get the hell out of my way because I can." She has been known to put herself in situations that are dangerous with little regard to herself or teammates on the occasions where things don't go to plan. It isn't quite that she doesn't care. There simply isn't an option of failing when it comes to her and if one of her teammates is injured in the process, then they shouldn't have been there to begin with.
[KIND] Believe it or not, she can be a very caring person. Especially if there's puppies or kids involved. She has no bleeding heart for grown people who whine and cry about their situations or surroundings, but if kids are involved she can get quite protective and go to long lengths to correct situations.
Elide was born on a military base in Arizona. Her parents were toxic for each other and when she was nine years old, her father killed her mother over a drug dispute before turning the gun on himself. She was placed with her grandparents, her grandfather an Air Force vet and her grandmother a nurse. They tried to correct her early childhood, but the damage was done and Elide quickly realized that controlling her surroundings was paramount to survival. She grew up learning how to manipulate the image of an honor roll, all-american, abstaining kind of young girl while simultaneously breaking into police cars and getting tattoos. She thrived on the thrill of it all. She felt herself soothed when she controlled what cards were played and which were held.
Her life was shaped even further as she visited a police station with the rest of her high school class. The narcotics division was celebrating a win, and as the chief proudly proclaimed that the amount they were looking at was well over 300 grand on the streets her eyebrows raised. While her other classmates were thinking about being the hero and saving their fair town from drugs, she was thinking that was a really quick way to make a lot of cash. She wasn't stupid though, she had no interest in dropping into the drug trade. That would require patience, time spent learning, and working her way up that deadly ladder. She instead focused on the direct route.
She enrolled in Arizona State University, and upon graduation with a degree in criminal justice, immediately enrolled into her local police force, narcotics division. Her grandparents had long passed and once she was on the PD roster for two years, she applied for the FBI, never to look back at Arizona again. It was easy, much too easy, to play the part of a good girl who didn't want to see what happened to her, happen to anyone else. They ate it up. She spent three years in training and on various teams here and there until finally making it to her preferred position as a special agent. She spent a year in Virginia, undercover. During that time she began cutting the middle-man out of the picture and seizing the drugs for herself. She never used of course, but she knew people who did.
The past year she has surmounted a sizeable personal ring of dealers who are under her, reporting to her and her alone, under the alias of Rhiya. When the virus broke out, it was clear that Lethford was not only becoming ground zero for the thing, but also number one in the drug trade. She arranged things behind scenes to get sent to Lethford officially, under the guise of ending the rings with the backing of the FBI. She assumed the cover of a journalist, using the FBI's resources to fabricate a bogus online journal, appearing as having been in publication for years instead of just days. Slowly she's making her way into the under workings of the town, looking at all pieces carefully before making her play.
