[attr="class","ozapptitle"]PERSONALITY
considerate: Wesley being a father of a teenage daughter he always tries his best to entertain her whenever she visits hoping she likes the stay because he doesn't want their relationship to be like his own. He wants to provide care and even though he's not the best at showcasing love he always puts in his best effort.
charming: Wesley was known to be quite the charmer at college before he met his wife. He was capable of easily wrapping women around his finger even though he really doesn't know why. It became a sport between his friends and him but it would always come with a lot of slaps whenever they found out they were just a game.
non-judgmental: After being a victim to rumors and wrongful judging himself, Wesley swore to himself to not do the same to others. He knows how it feels to have someone look at you at decline your request just because rumors said so. He was made out to be a terrible person even though it wasn't him. It was his dad. And he hates being compared to him.
strong: One trait he adapted was to be strong and to open his mouth if needed. To say something when someone is wrong. To defend himself and others in need. His mother was the total opposite and he was too until he stopped being weak.
dishonest: If his childhood taught him one thing it's how to lie and be persuasive with it.
impulsive: Wesley often acts without thinking but this applies more to his private life than it does to work. He's the kind to pick fights if someone just looks at him the wrong way. He feels the need to defend himself quite often and hates having a victim mentality.
pessimistic: Growing up with a shitty family and a shitty life doesn't help much in the optimism department. Wesley usually tends to see the bad in things instead of the good. He's pretty much a pessimist. The cake fell to the floor? It's fine. Maybe we can try to save it. Not for Wes.
domineering: A trait he probably picked up from his dad after all. He's known to yell at work a lot. It's something he doesn't like himself but sometimes he doesn't notice he's being such an ass. It just happens and he will most likely apologize if it did. However, it's helpful when dealing with criminals and shady people in general.
workaholic: Wesley can be found at work most of the time. If he's not at the clinic can be found working on patients around the city. But he doesn't have much else to do if his daughter isn't currently visiting.
[attr="class","ozapptitle"]BIOGRAPHY
Wesley was born in Texas to a troubled family. His father was known to abuse his wife and his mom never did anything. She was too scared, too defenseless. All he could do was watch because he was just a child. He would become the subject of the abuse as well. They all pretended everything was fine way too often. He would come to school with bruises on his face and the teachers always ignored it, afraid to intervene.
He joined the football team as a way to vent. He was good, aggressive... perhaps sometimes too aggressive. But at least he could use it as an excuse whenever someone tried to ask where he got the bruises from. There were a lot of times he would run away from home to spend the night somewhere else or just lock himself inside his room, blast music through his headphones to blur out his mother's screams.
In high school, his dad just went insane. Wesley had always known about his father's guns at home. It was nothing out of the ordinary. Wesley had enough of the abuse and fear. He wanted to stop being afraid and so he stole one the pistols in his father's room - but he got caught. His father started beating him and if his mother hadn't stopped him it would have most likely been his last day on earth.
His mother tried to stop him but it just escalated even more. The neighbors had called the police and when they showed up his father shot through the door, fatally hurting one of the officers standing outside. He was arrested and finally put away in jail. Wesley was free but the price was too high. Someone had died... a father, leaving behind children and wife.
His father was the only one earning money for the family, so his mother had to try and find work which she did at a local supermarket. Wesley tried to find himself a part-time job as well but no one wanted to hire the son of the person who shot a police officer. Rumors spread through the whole city and soon he would be bullied at school. He was blamed for the death of Veronica's father. He got kicked out of all clubs and the football team, was ignored by his fellow students, abandoned by his friends and given bad grades by his teachers on purpose.
His father's abuse had stopped but it continued with his classmates taking him out behind the school for a beating here and there. Wesley grit his teeth and went through it without saying anything, without fighting back, because what if he did and someone else would pay the price for it. Again. But at some point, he had enough and fought back. He started hating the idea of being the victim. He started getting into fights more often as well as getting suspended from school.
Shortly after finishing high school, his mother passed away. She had always been a fragile and weak woman. It didn't surprise him when he came home after school and found her body in the bedroom. What he didn't know was that his mother had bought a gun. Wesley moved away after that, leaving behind everything.
He went to college for a fresh start. No one knew him, he knew no one: except for one person. He didn't expect to run into Veronica. He also didn't expect the two of them to hit it up at a party. He was shocked about the news of her pregnancy and for a moment he considered leaving again but he decided to stay. They were young but they would manage. He didn't want to be a horrible person like his father once was.
They started dating and it didn't surprise anyone when they got married. But the two of them took work seriously. He earned his medical degree and was spending most of his time at the hospital working as a surgeon, Veronica was climbing up the ladder within law enforcement and was offered a job with the FBI while Wesley was offered a new position in Lethford. After a dispute they decided it would be the best to go separate ways, leading to their divorce with Veronica receiving custody over their daughter which she then took to Quantico.
Wesley was known in his department. For being a fantastic surgeon but also for getting into fights too often. Apparently he inherited more of his father's personality than he thought. At some point, it resulted in several lawsuits and getting fired. For some time he fell into a hole, unable to crawl out of it, until he found himself working as a private doctor for criminals, gangs, the homeless. Those who weren't allowed to visit a hospital or just couldn't afford it.
His daughter would visit him at least once a year, mostly during summer holidays, and he would pretend to still work at the hospital even though he wasn't. This year was different though. She visited but shortly after the pandemic was declared and the city was shut down. However, he also found out about a secret underground clinic, which he started to fund and help with work. Now with his daughter stuck in the city, he tries to divide his time between work and family but also just because he wants to spend more time with her.
