PERSONALITY
IMPULSIVE ... Jax isn't the kind to think before acting or speaking. This has been known to cause many problems in both his professional and personal life. It's not that he has issues taking orders, it's just that he get very excited and that paired with his confidence tends to lend itself to brash actions.
CONFIDENT ... Bordering on the line of being conceited, Jax is not lacking in the self-confidence department. Most of his adolescent life was spent in as many classes of martial arts that his parents could afford. From training at a young age to then joining the military, he is quite sure of his skills and doesn't mind boasting about them to others.
GOOD-NATURED ... He isn't one to easily be angered. Jax doesn't take too much seriously unless he has to for his job and honestly even then it's a toss up. He tends to think of the glass as always half-full and likes to think the best of people. He doesn't like to be the hard ass and doesn't tend to think of things as black and white.
LOYAL ... Jax has a very strong sense of loyalty to the handful of people who he genuinely calls a friend. Sure he has a ton of people he's friendly to, but to those who he considers a friend or family he would do anything for. The boy would move the heavens if required. He doesn't have many people still in his life so he tends to be quite loyal and protective to those who are in his circle.
RECKLESS ... Not one to care too much about the consequences of his actions. He tends to act upon his impulsive nature a lot more than he used to do. He doesn't have a bleak outlook on life, he simply doesn't care much what happens to him anymore. The first to volunteer for dangerous assignments and the first to jump into the unknown.

BIOGRAPHY
Jackson, or as he prefers to be called, Jax, was born in Chicago. He had a normal childhood and was blessed with two parents who divorced early but remained dedicated to getting along for their kid's sake. His mother had sole custody and his father dropped to the background. Visits slowly becoming fewer and fewer until the only contact was a check in the mail each month. It didn't phase the kid, as long as he had his mother Jax was just fine carrying on. Jax showed an early interest in martial arts, anything that allowed him to push himself physically. He excelled in sports, but typically didn't last long in them due to his impulsive and often overly-confident nature.
When Jax made it to high school, his interest fell away to only one thing and that was his girlfriend Emma. The two fell in love deeply and all at once. Jax had been known to date around before meeting Emma, but after he found her there wasn't anyone else in the world. The very definition of high school sweethearts, with neither set of parents thinking it would ever last. When they graduated high school Emma had enrolled in MIT and Jax had joined the military. The next three years passed by in a blur to him. He found training to be easy, weaponry classes came natural to the boy, and he felt at home in the structured world that the military offered.
When Jax was twenty-one, a year away from his service ending he proposed to Emma, who accepted immediately. The two spent the next year planning a wedding during the few stolen moments they got together. Emma graduated at the end of the year and when Jax's service was up, the two were ready to start their future together. It was during this time however when Jax got word that his mother had cancer. The two agreed to put off their wedding while Jax stayed with his mother in Chicago during her treatments. Emma had moved back in with her parents in Lethford City while she looked for a job. So yet another year flew by in a blink, the boy had lost his mom, with still no word from his father.
Six months ago Jax had moved what few things he had to Lethford City to be with Emma and finally start their new life together. The wedding was set for summer, the promise sunshine and warmth calling to them. Two months after the move Emma had officially moved in with Jax. Her mother, father, and little sister only a few blocks down from their little apartment. Emma had gotten a job teaching at the local elementary school and Jax applied for the SWAT division of the Lethford police department. Local news began warning people to get prepared for the upcoming norovirus season that was rapidly approaching, but for the most part, life carried on as usual.
Two months passed and the warnings about a new gastrointestinal virus began spreading over the airways. Nothing too scary of course, just a nasty little stomach bug that kept making the rounds. People began using extra precautions, but life moved along. In the next weeks conditions slowly began to become more tense as anxiety for this new strain began to make it's way through the city. It seemed like more and more people were catching bugs, some with gastro issues, some with strep. The city began discussing plans to have in place to stop the spread of any contagion, but it was mostly for show, after all, it was just a bad stomach bug.
Two more months passed and a death occurred. No one cared of course and in fact Jax wouldn't have known about it at all if he hadn't been on assignment to round up the few relatives who had been in contact with the girl for further testing. The local news had reported on the coincidence. It wasn't scary of course, just something interesting they could talk about between the weather and the news. No one cared much. Emma came home a week later with a sore throat.
In another week she was gone. before Jax could blink he had lost her. His world became darker, he tried taking a leave of absence from his job but barely a week after her passing and all of the people in contact with the first deceased were dead. The world was rocked. A new virus had been found, hiding in plain sight all along. The deaths are climbing and the number of infected are on the rise daily. Jax stayed on with the force, throwing himself into his work as the only means to keep going. He checks in on Emma's family as much as possible while trying to maintain the peace and order of a city that's gone to hell along with the rest of the world.
