Tyler had just called it quits as her head was starting to buzz with the drinks she allowed herself to have. A lollipop in her mouth as a loud door banged open and the yelling started. She was already one hand on the door as she glanced back to see the first officer come in the door. Definitely her time to go. She was out the door without a second though, her blonde hair whipping behind her as she jogged a bit away. The last thing she wanted was to get caught by someone and then have to pull the 'I work for the mayor' card, or her favorite 'I want to call my daddy' card. He would be able to get her out, no doubt about it. She just didn't want to deal with the scolding after.
She kept glancing around her as she tried to be as casual as she walked down the sidewalk. Trying her best to stick to shadows when she saw a car coming. A few people ran past her as they tried to get away as well. She felt her heart pounding as she went. Surely, running would draw more attention. So she was going to not do that. She glanced over her shoulder once more, watching the burst of people that was suddenly on the roads and sidewalk. There were so many. And Tyler suddenly felt guilty for even attending. Just for the briefest moment. Before she turned back forward. Only to have her shoulder bumped. "Hey, watch it." She said, her hand coming up to rub her bare shoulder as she looked to see if the person would even turn to apologize.
As soon as Kit had heard the commotion, he was out of the building. He exited quick and fast, jogging his way down an alley before slowing to a casual walk as he broke out onto the sidewalk. Maybe the police wouldn’t bother a priest on his walk home? He was still out after curfew, so his gaze searched ahead of him for any oncoming patrols. Glancing over his shoulder, at the people pouring out of the warehouse like rats, he was glad he was quick to move. So focused on what was happening behind him, he didn’t notice the person ahead of him as his shoulder smacked theirs. Turning around, he heard a familiar voice. But it couldn’t be -
Tyler. Kit raised his brows, looking a little surprised, before a slow smirk spread across his face. ”So Princess is out here breaking the law, huh? For someone so against criminal activity, this is quite the shock.” Giving her a once-over, the amusement in his expression grew. ”I have a feeling you probably have some sins to confess.” As far as pickup lines, it was probably cheesy at best. But what else could he do, all dressed up as a priest like he was?
Tyler half expected the person to be rushing off. To try and not be caught by the patrol cars that were surely going to be flooding the streets any moment now to catch stragglers. So when she actually looked up and locked eyes onto a particular hacker, she found herself stunned for a moment. Both of them exchanging looks of surprises. "Oh pour pleurer à haute voix!" fell from her mouth as he started talking about 'criminal activity'. 'Oh for crying out loud!' Her small huff left her as his eyes moved over her costume. She knew that she looked good. It was why she had picked the outfit of course.
What she found annoying, and possibly a little annoying, was his costume choice. And his attempt at a joke about her confessing sins to him had her rolling her eyes just a little. "First off, I am a fairy. Not a princess." She told him, realizing that in that moment, her heels made her just as tall as him. So she could look him in the eye. "Secondly, if you tell me to get on my knees and pray, you are going to find yourself easily caught tonight." She snipped. Though as the next rush of people ran past, she started to move forward again. "Now, are you coming or are you going to stand around and put yourself into cuffs?" She glanced back at him, never stopping her graceful gait.
Hearing her speak French again made Kit think of their initial meeting. Originally pleasant, quickly turned sour. Like most of his relationships, he thought sourly, a chagrined smirk on his face. Kit pursed his lips and sucked in his breath, brows pulling down as he gave her a look. ”Keep speaking to me like that and I might just propose.” He quipped, ever the joker. He couldn’t help it - she seemed to revert to her other languages when she was frustrated and angry, and he liked to push her buttons.
Raising his hands as if in surrender, he laughed. ”Why not a fairy princess?” He asked her, tilting his head and looking as if this were a genuine question. She was, afterall, a princess in real life - well, a modern one. But she certainly had the attitude right. Her second point had him pressing his palm to his chest, giving her a mock offended look as she barked at him and started off again. ”Well, in rebuttal, I find that offensive that you’d think I’d stoop to that sort of line. It’s a little gross, innit?” He called after her, pausing for a split second before quickly following after her. ”Nice of you to invite me along. I knew I was growing on you.” He teased as he drew up even with her, tilting his head in her direction and side-eyeing her, a smirk on his face.
Tyler raised a perfectly manicured brow at him as he looked her over, claiming that he was going to propose to her. A small irritation ran through her and yet she couldn't help but let the smallest smirk take over her lips. A few more French words falling from her mouth, "Comme vous pouvez me permettre." 'Like you could afford me'. Her blue eyes amused for the time being as she moved down the sidewalk. "Because princesses are supposed to be prim and proper. I might look like one, but it doesn't mean I act like one." She shot back to him.
She scoffed lightly at him. "I do think you'd stoop that low. Something tells me that you'd like to see women in such positions." She chided him. He was a man after all. Which meant of course he liked such things. Right? She wasn't going to wait for him when she knew they needed to get out of the area. "Growing like a tumor on my side. Glad to know that you can see it too." She mumbled lightly, her eyes darting over her shoulder as another group ran past them. She was starting to get a little nervous about getting caught. And that feeling slammed into her when headlights hit her eyes when she turned forward again. A small gasp leaving her as she grabbed Dean's arm and pulled him into a very narrow alleyway between two buildings. One that was not quite wide enough for two people, which caused the two of them to be sandwiched between the buildings, chest to chest.
Kit couldn’t help but enjoy the sound of another language escaping her lips. He’d heard other people talk different languages plenty of times, but for some reason when she did, it made his head swirl. French was quickly becoming his favorite. He quirked a brow as she explained why she wasn’t a princess, giving her a searching look. Pressing his lips together tightly, he hummed, gaze flicking back ahead of them. ”Mmm. I think you’ve only got that half right. Princesses are prim and proper in public.” He paused, for dramatic effect, before glancing over at her from the corner of his gaze. ”No one said they have to be that way in private.” Another devilish smirk curled his lips as he spoke, giving the tiniest of shrugs.
Her next words were like a punch to his gut, but he kept the genuine emotion from his face, his smirk only dimming slightly. She really thought he was a piece of trash, huh? Because he hadn’t had the good fortune to be born wealthy? Kit brushed the hurt off, figuring it wasn’t worth his time to be offended. He was a heartless scam artist, right? ”Then clearly you must be right.” He said, tone flippant. Kit was about to respond to her next statement when the headlights appeared and she was suddenly tugging him into an alley. The sudden closeness was certainly not a bad thing - at least not on his end. As the vehicle approached, Kit caught her gaze and leaned forward, planting his hand right beside her head on the brick wall of the building, leaning even closer in order to shield her from view. His gaze burned into hers for a moment before he glanced over his arm, watching the patrol car roll by, most of his face hidden behind his own limb. His heart was hammering in his throat, so he didn’t try to speak as the vehicle passed, afraid somehow his voice would carry and get them caught.
"No one said they have to be that way in private."
Her blue eyes flashed to him. watching as his shoulders moved up and down and a clearly mischievous smile was resting on his face. Oh so he thought he was adorable or something did he? Or perhaps he was trying to play a game... or taunt her... Either way, her eyes narrowed playfully as she contained her own impish grin. "Are you wanting to find out?" She challenged. It didn't mean that she would actually offer it, but since he was being bold with his comments, she'd test that resolve. See just how much of it was an act and how much was actually real. Besides, it'd take a real man to handle her. That was very clear. And that was an expectation that she would not lower. But maybe... No.
She shook her head to clear her thoughts. And then she was tugging him down the alley. Her eyes turning to him as his seemed to be meeting hers. Blue eyes meeting brown, and suddenly he was leaning forward. Her breath caught in her throat, eyes growing wide as he got closer and his hand met the wall beside her head. Well this was certainly a bold move. Her gaze betrayed her and flicked down to his lips, as if she was going to watch him move in to kiss her. Except his head turned and he looked over his arm at the patrol car passing. A wave of embarrassment rolled over her. She wanted to take her heel off and beat herself over the head with it, just for the fact that she even allowed that thought to cross her mind. And her eyes? She wanted to pluck them from her face for looking at his lips.
A huff left her, annoyance, but at herself as she looked the opposite way. Trusting at this point that he didn't want to get caught just as much as she did. But she wanted the upper hand here still. And after that dumb move on her part, she felt like he had that hand currently. So she nonchalantly adjusted herself against him, arching just a bit and rotating her shoulders and shifting her weight on her feet. "Coast clear?" She whispered to him.
Kit was a little taken by surprise that she didn’t respond with some sort of offended gasp, but not so much that he didn’t flash her that grin again and cock an eyebrow, tilting his head as he looked at her. ”Find out what’s underneath that ice queen beauty?” He replied, as if considering it in earnest. He knew she wasn’t offering, but he couldn’t help but think about it for a split second. ”Mmm. It keeps me up at night.” Kit teased, trying his best to look as if he were in excruciating pain just at the thought. Maybe he was looking to see how far he could push her with the flirtations, or maybe he just wanted to prove her assumptions right because he was feeling petty.
And maybe the move he just pulled was also another push at her walls to see what he could get away with. Catching the way her gaze flicked down to his lips, Kit felt a thrill run through him, but he fought that back as his gaze moved over his shoulder, trying to focus on making them as invisible as possible. He didn’t miss the way she moved herself, painfully aware of the way her body seemed to just not stop. If he were a less respectful man, he might have tried his hand at seducing her right then and there. But she might only kick his ass, and he wasn’t looking for a fight tonight. Especially not with the cops. His attention was dragged back to her as she spoke, still leaning into her with his hand beside her head. The cool brick was something to ground him. She was too pretty for her own good. ”Clear. But about what positions I’d like to see a woman in….” He trailed, a brow slowly raising as he looked her in the eye, a slow-burning smirk spreading over his face. ”It wouldn’t have been my first choice, but this is a good one.” It was shameless and a little lame, but oh well. Straightening, Kit nodded down the alley.
”Ladies first.” He told her, fully intending to stick by her side until she was safely somewhere. Tilting his head and giving her a curious look. ”Do you live close by?”
It wouldn't be the first time she was called an ice queen. Or the last. A small smirk tugged at her lips as she walked next to him. "Sounds like you need to find a new obsession then. You'll always be up thinking of me. Whether you get underneath or not." She told him. Her blue gaze remained forward for as Long as she could remain that way. Until they were in the alley and she was staring up at him with wide eyes.
He was still so close as he checked to make sure that they were good to go. She didn't hear any other cars coming. And she wasn't sure she wanted to be there all night exactly. So she was glad when he told her it was clear. Though apparently he had a lot more to say. She stared at him for a moment, as he leaned just a bit closer to her. She'd never admit it out loud, but she thought about closing that distance. She even leaned forward as if to call him on his bluff, or perhaps her own, a breath away from him before she slipped her way out from between him and the wall and started down the alleyway. "Are you actually offering to walk me home?"
