[attr="class","ozapptitle"]PERSONALITY
arrogant: Collin grew up thinking the world only revolves around him. He always got what he wanted. He was treated like a prince when he was young and like a king once he was older. It boosted his egoism as well as his arrogance, thinking he's the main character.
selfish: Sharing is a word he probably never heard of. You might want to follow with a definition so he knows what you're talking about. Collin doesn't
share. He doesn't like giving up things he owns or has. Ask him for a fry even though there are like dozens he wouldn't give one to you. Again, the world revolves around him.
loud: Boasting about his life, his wealth, his skills and his success is something he is very good at. He doesn't care if it annoys you or not. He's not someone who likes staying quiet and he will always talk over someone if needed.
obsessive: Since he feels like he has a right to own everything and everyone he can get quite obsessive over specific things or people. And with that comes a certain amount of jealousy.
money: Collin was born with a silver spoon and a golden fork. Needless to say, his family was rich and so was he. He only knows how to solve problems with money. You're sad? Have a fifty. You don't like me? Let me buy your friendship. He grew up thinking money was the one thing that always helped because for him it was true.
trust issues: Money bought him friends but it also brought him, enemies. He was used to others wishing the worst for him and most of the time he would ignore those. But anyone who approaches him without any solid reason was suspicious to him. He doesn't trust easily, mostly because of fear of being used for connections or wealth.
intelligent: Being homeschooled, attending extra classes, and college classes at a young age with private tutors available for everything he had an interest in Collin is quite intelligent. He's definitely not a himbo even though he could appear like one at first glance. He spent a lot of his free time studying because it was the one thing that - funny enough - brought joy to him.
bibliophile: Collin can be indecisive and likes to read up on a lot of different topics. He started collecting books since he was smaller, inheriting the antique collection from his grandmother. His apartment is lined with bookshelves, probably something you wouldn't expect either, but at least he can say he read most of them. One good thing about having money is that he can buy more books.
social skills: Growing up with regular dinner parties, events, and a bunch of different activities such as horseback riding, golfing, skiing, and his favorite: racing, he was taught how to converse with all sorts of people. He can easily strike up conversations but also lead them into his desired direction.
[attr="class","ozapptitle"]BIOGRAPHY
Vandyne. A name everyone in the biotechnology and pharmacy industry has heard of at least once in their life. Owners of the biggest pharma tech franchise and shareholders of Prism BioTech. Once an unknown man from the Netherlands with no money and no future. That was his grandfather. Aldert Vandyne, a soldier who survived the war and decided to stay in the US after meeting his future wife. Collin was named after him.
The couple gave birth to Aloysius Vandyne, his father, who was sent to study to live a better life - and that he did. He played a big role in the industry until he opened his own business: Vandyne Pharmaceuticals. At first, it seemed that they were failing, some business partners leaving him on his own but when he met his first wife, a scientist, discovered a new sort of rug and soon business was exploding as they put it on the market. A few years later one could find products all over the world with production companies in every larger city.
Collin was born in his father's prime time. He was given everything he wanted or needed. His father never said no, no matter how absurd Collin's request. He could have asked for a piece of the moon and his father would have said yes. Collin had a great life with nothing to complain about. He was homeschooled throughout his childhood and teens and never really got to know regular school life. That also meant he didn't really make friends. The friends he had were all children of his parent's friends and most of them were just as stuck up as he was.
The only other friends he had were the maids and workers in their home, but most of them just played nice because they feared losing their job. Rightfully. There was one maid who once brought her daughter, who was the same age as Collin because she couldn't afford a babysitter, and school was apparently closed that day because of a bug infestation issue. The girl's name was Amelia. Collin found out about her despite her mother's efforts to keep her hidden, running into Amelia while she was exploring the mansion, obviously not listening to her mother's orders. She ended up in Collins' room to hide.
Astonished by the collection of books she asked to stay and Collin didn't say no. He was curious because for once he met someone the same age but someone who wasn't a family friend. The two of them were polar opposites but they somehow decided to become friends. He wouldn't tell his parents about her but always asked the maid to bring her daughter. Everything went well for a year when something in the house was stolen. His father had all his workers investigated and it turned out Amelia had taken it for her mother's benefit. She confessed, that she used Collin to get money, to steal things without getting caught. She used him as an excuse and humiliated him in front of everyone. She didn't care about him or their friendship. All she cared about was his wealth.
After that Collin abandoned the idea of ever having friends again. He would only go so far to call someone an acquaintance and that was it. Friendship didn't exist for him - not anymore. The stakes were too high, it was too dangerous. Once he acquired his GED he was sent to one of the best universities abroad to continue his studies. He was provided a house with workers and a car. A lot of times he used the money to just drink and party. He found himself waking up next to a stranger way too often.
But even that time came to an end and he returned to his parent's home to start working for their company. He had stocks and shares in his name and was one of the top shareholders, learning to take over the company in the future. He was flirting with a lot of the female staff and once more made the mistake of trusting someone, even though he promised himself not to. He couldn't help but fall in love with one of the lab assistants but they decided to keep the relationship a secret. It all seemed to go well and he was gearing up to propose to her but instead, she filed a complaint about him.
Rumors started spreading through the entire company and his father found himself in a difficult position. Normally, Collin would have her fired and pay to clean up the mess. But this time it didn't seem to be a way out so instead he was told to leave and his father sent him away to Lethford City where he got a job at Prism BioTech for the time being.
