OUTBREAK: ZERO is a semi post-apocalyptic pandemic roleplay set in the fictional city of Lethford, USA. Current season: Winter, 20/21.
March 2020. The world is in pandemonium as one month ago, GHNv-20 was confirmed, five months after the beginning of norovirus season. The number of the infected are in the higher hundred thousands, and the death toll is at an estimated 250,000, with about seventy percent of the rest of the population experiencing mild to moderate illnesses connected to the S. pyogenes bacteria.
The fear of the unknown has caused mass hysteria and panic.
In an attempt to provide a semblance of safety and control, military personnel patrol the streets, even here in Lethford City, and the police force is trying to keep up with the rising street violence, assault, and theft.

TIME: Nighttime WEATHER: SNOWING HEAVILY BOARD: Downtown LOCATION: General Hospital SURROUNDINGS: Inside an elevator
YOUR PROMPT: Characters A, B, & C are all inside Lethford's General hospital. They each get into an elevator to ride up to a level above ground level. The three of them trying to space out to keep a little bit of social distance before the doors shut on them. As they ride up, silence stretched and suddenly there was a geek of the elevator. And then total darkness. Creepily, an emergency light flickers on and gives a dull glow to the elevator and the characters realize that they are stuck and the hospital has lost power. The back up generator kicks on, but only for the patients rooms, not for the elevator.
TIME: Afternoon, around 5pm WEATHER: SNOWING HEAVILY BOARD: Venshaw Bridge SURROUNDINGS: Abandoned cars along the road that connected to the bridge. Snow covering everything.
YOUR PROMPT: Character A & B were driving in separate cars near the Venshaw Bridge when they hit black ice. Neither party is able to get their cars to continue going. Character A decides that they are not going to be sticking to their car and waiting around for help. So cautiously, they get out of their car and start walking up the road when Character B spots them walking in the heavy snow.
TIME: Midday WEATHER: SNOWING HEAVILY BOARD: Residential Area LOCATION: Random Pop Up Testing Site SURROUNDINGS: A trailer like building set up as a temporary testing site
YOUR PROMPT: Character A has just shown up for their appointment at the testing site that has just been put up for the community. Character B has been there for quite some time now waiting. The wind starts to kick up and suddenly the power dies. As they try to leave the trailer, they realize a full on blizzard has started outside and they are now trapped. One patient stands and starts screaming that they have the virus and acting erratically.
TIME: Afternoon WEATHER: SNOWING HEAVILY BOARD: Underground Military Base LOCATION: Just outside the Operations Center SURROUNDINGS:
YOUR PROMPT: Character A & B happen to be on the military base for work purposes separate from one another. But as they go to leave, the blizzard starts to pick up. Ripping away all credentials that they had to prove who they were. And it turns out all those who knew they were just there in another part of a base, seemed to have gone home for the day/cannot be found. As they try to go back inside, the two characters find themselves held at gunpoint outside the base, trying to talk their way into the base. Which isn't going to be easy without those credentials that flew away in the harsh snowy wind.
TIME: Night time (just before curfew) WEATHER: SNOWING HEAVILY BOARD: Lethford Heath Forest LOCATION: Just a random road that was passing through. SURROUNDINGS: Forest, no street lights in the seeable distance.
YOUR PROMPT: Character A & B both are riding a bus back into the city for a reason of your choice. Both wind up having to sit across from one another and are with only a few others on the bus when suddenly, the large vehicle starts spinning out of control. When the bus finally stops, because of the front impact of a tree, both characters realize they are not getting anywhere anytime soon. All cellphones seem to have no service, whether due to their location or perhaps their cell tower is compromised because of the snow. Who knows? But now they need to figure out what to do, do they wait with the bus or venture into the night to try and get help for themselves?
